Spooky-ish Boo-ks for Babies

HALLOWEEN can be spooky(ish) for baby, but also a lot of fun if you introduce the holiday’s themes with BOO-KS! From pumpkins to dressing up, trick or treating to Ghouls and Goblins, we've got you covered! Here are some of my favorite board books to get you in the Halloween spirit:

1. BOO! By Leslie Patricelli

By the beloved author of ‘No No Yes Yes” and “Yummy Yucky”, Baby takes on an adventure of all the festivities of Halloween from craving pumpkins to trick or treating.

2. Where is Baby's Pumpkin? by Karen Katz

We love Karen Katz and this sweet lift-the-flap book, baby searches the house for her pumpkin finding many other surprises along the way under each flap!

3. Spooky by Roger Priddy

This simple, touch-and-feel book is a perfect sensory way to get baby into the spooky-ish spirit.

4. Ghosts in the House! by Kazuno Kohara

This one is a fun twist on a spooky ghost story and I love the black and orange bold illustrations! The witch’s house is haunted, but she knows just what to do. She washes them in the washing machine, hangs them out to dry and uses them as curtains, tablecloths and more.

5. Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler

This fun story takes us on an adventure with a witch who loses her hat. The animals help her find it each time in exchange for a ride on her broom, but is there room for all of them? The board book version is the perfect length for your readers!

6. Peek-a-boo! By Nina Laden

Join in on a spooky game of peek-a-boo in this colorful, rhyming board book with die cut windows help children predict what is peeking through the next page!

7. 10 Trick-or-Treaters: A Halloween Counting Book By Janet Schulman

This not-too-scary Halloween counting book follows ten trick-or-treaters who get frightened one by one on Halloween night when a toad hops near, a skeleton tries to join their dance party, and a monster asks to share their candy.

8. Funny Faces Halloween Jack by Roger Priddy

With funny rhymes and googly eyes, this Halloween book is a spooktacular!
