Books and Cookies POP-UP Classes
Pop-up retail. Pop-up store. Pop-up shop. Flash retailing. However you name it, it’s here to stay! Trending short-term sale spaces have been popping-up in Los Angeles since the late 90s, and we want in!
When we learned Books and Cookies would be closing the doors to its flagship retail space, we knew relocation would take some time. We thought of the many retailers we’ve hosted at Books and Cookies for pop-up shops and temp. sales events- A Real Treat Candy Boutique, New Life Consignment, Classic Kids Photography and Kickee Pants to name a few- and what successes their mobile shops had seen. We thought about all the fun we have hosting Crafty Kids at Main Street Santa Monica Famer’s Market, and went straight about bringing back our weekly Story Time and shopping tent there. Continuing to offer hands-on book play and book sales to local families was one thing we knew we could make happen, but that is truly only one aspect of what Books and Cookies can bring to the community.
We always liked to say Books and Cookies was like four businesses under one roof - specialty book and children’s retail store, enrichment center, café, and party and event planning service. So, how about thinking beyond the classic retail pop-up? Creating an enriching environment for parents and their kids to play, learn, and grow is an indispensable part of what we do, we’d have to find a way to continue offering weekly classes for our families.
Chudney, owner of Books and Cookies, remembered teaching Music Together classes once upon a time at Hill St. Center Yoga. Just up the street from our previous B&C location, it was the perfect fit! With beautiful bamboo floors, a wonderfully bright interior, and not distracting but delightful sounds from the pre-school next door, this space begs for parent-and-me classes. Check us out there 4 days a week throughout April (to start) leading our usual morning classes!

You can also find Books and Cookies for book and merchandise sales and Story Times on the hour at the Main Street Farmer's Market every Sunday. Look for our red tent!

We've already mastered the Pop-Up kids Birthday Party (post about our recent party at Crestwood Hills Park coming soon!), ask about bringing Books and Cookies to you!
