3 Easy Ideas for Sensory Play
Babies are sponges and of course we want to make sure that we’re giving them great learning experiences. Toy companies spend millions of dollars making you think that you need to buy them the newest, shiniest, flashiest toys to keep them happy, but in many cases simplicity and taking it back to the basics is the best thing you can do for your baby.
Here are some easy ways to give your baby an amazing sensory play experience…without breaking the bank!
Sensory Bag: This is so easy that you’ll find yourself making tons of them for every occasion. Fill a Ziplock with water, hair gel, soap (you get the picture) and add in confetti, beads, coins, buttons, etc. You can make bags that are holiday themed, ocean themed, and so on. Then seal the edge with packing tape. This is perfect for babies (pre-teeth).
Various Balls: Create a collection of balls of different sizes, shapes and textures. It’s amazing how many ways a baby will find to play with a simple basket of balls. Sorting, mouthing, filling, dumping, throwing and fetching. My favorite is this ball and I insert a picture of my baby through the slots:
DIY Water Bottles: This is so simple and you can make them using just about anything. These are great for babies all the way up to preschoolers:
